Revolutionary Wealth by Alvin & Heidi Toffler.
I found the hard back, 492 page book through Amazon for nine bucks. With a wife and 3 small daugthers it took me almost 45 days to complete. It was well worth the time invested. Here's why:
1) It was very well written and researched. Even for a guy like me who barely graduated high school, I "got it".
2) The knowledge economy takes up a great deal of the book. Very interesting and one can begin applying this information to their career almost immediately.
3) The "hidden" prosumer economy. The Tofflers go to great lenghths to discuss volunteerism, child-rearing and the many things people do but are not paid a direct wage. In essence they call this the "free-lunch" part of our economy. Again, a lot of good information presented in usable context.
Rating: 4 Stars
If you are looking for more insight into the prosumer economy I highly reccommend you read the Tightwad Gazette.
Now out of print (you can find it on Amazon) you will find it enjoyable and practical if you truly want to get the most out of the pro-sumer economy.
