Just finished reading Masters of Networking by Ivan Misner and Don Morgan. The book was published in 2000 by Bard Press. I had the opportunity to meet Ray Bard in Austin, TX a few years back at Wizard Academy. He's a great guy.
This was the first book I have ever read on networking. I'll sum it up for you in one paragraph:
Masters of Networking teaches you it's all about the relationships that you are developing. Both personal and professional and how they intertwine into our daily lives to form the basis of your personal network. At the end of the day it's all about making the connection with someone. It can be your boss, friend or someone you have met for the first time. It does not matter. What matters is that you must make a strong connection for them to remember you and think of you when the need arises.
I have always been a believer in networking and this book really helped synchronize those beliefs and my habits.
You can pick up a used copy for around $6. I can say this was the best six bucks I have spent in a long time.
Have a great week,
Shawn
