And her classmates had to write a story during class. She was very excited about the project. After everyone's story was submitted 2 of her classmates were picked to attend the young writers conference. She was very disappointed that she was not chosen. So I thought about her problem and suggested that we post it here.
Here is her story:
THE SHINING TRAIL OF FRIENDSHIP
It was time for the school year to end. There were three friends in the third grade; Amy, Tiffany and Michelle. Mr. and Mrs. Rochester, their teachers, had a big trail behind their house. One day when the girls were out riding and they met a boy named Charlie Baker. The girls stayed and talked to Charlie for a while. Then the girls asked Charlie, “Would you like to be our friend?” “Yes, I would like to be your friend.”
Charlie came with the girls to meet Mr. and Mrs. Rochester. When they got there Michelle introduced Charlie to them. Then they showed Charlie the stables. Before we can do anything we need to get Charlie a horse. Then Amy saddled up Sparkle. Charlie got on Sparkle and said, “Walk on girl. They were noticing that Sparkle was acting kind of funny so they told Mr. and Mrs. Rochester. They said that some horses do that on occasions. They discovered that Sparkle was going to have a baby colt in June. It was only May now so they had to wait a while. But everybody was so exited for Sparkle. It was best if Sparkle wasn’t ridden. So the girls and Charlie didn’t come to lessons until June. June came and the colt was born on June 3rd.
Everyone was so exited. Amy asked, “What should we name her?” Everyone agreed that her name should be Rainbow. Then from that day on the girls and Charlie took good care of Rainbow and Sparkle. The End
