Are like the taverns of the 70's. Let me explain. In 1978 I was 11 years old. I used to meet my Buddies, Mike, Charlie and sometimes KJ at the Twighlight club on Saturday morning. We used to hang out there, shoot pool, play pinball and eat Snickers bars. We grew up in a tiny river town of about 100 people - and 2 taverns, the Twighlight and the Wye-Not. These were social places where people could gather, share stories and just be themselves. My Father never went to either place.
I'll always remember the "old" people sittin' at the bar complainin' about politics, their wives, the boss, whatever. It seemed to me they just wanted to whine and not do anything. Boy how things have changed.
Today's coffee shops offer the same social experience as yesterday's taverns. Yes, you'll still find people whining but you will also find people doing. Busy making plans for their lives and busy communicating via their laptops and WIFI.
As a bonus you won't get an OWI, DUI, DWI or whatever your state calls drunk driving. I have never heard of anyone getting picked up for TMC - Too Much Caffeine.
Got to go - I told Larry I'd pick him up at 8:30. We're going to our favorite coffee house... before our wives wake up.
Have a terrific new year and remember it's OK to drive TMC.
